The students in 4B will be participating in many special events and be involved in a range of learning experiences across the year at Laurimar. Find out what is happing in 4B, see photos and regularly keep up to date with what's happening in our grade by checking this page. Week 6:
In week 2 the JSC elections were held in the senior learning centre. The children from grades 3-6 were invited to write a speech and present it to their own grade level if they wished to run for the elections. Each grade level shortlisted 8 candidates to run for the elections to see who would be elected JSC reps for 2010. All nominees stood up and spoke confidently in front of the whole senior school, promoting why they would like to be elected to JSC. The Victorian Electoral Commission were there on the day to support the senior school students to vote for their preferred candidates, using the offical election process and boxes.
I was very proud of all grade 4B students who managed to stand up in front of a group, show confidence and present a speech. You all deserve to have been voted through!
I am very pleased to announce that the following students from grade 4B were short listed for the JSC elections. Here are their wonderful speeches:
Hayden Jesser Caelan Anderson
Jake Richards Holly Spooner
Caelan and Hayden I am so proud of the speeches that you delivered in front of so many people. Hayden your confidence has grown so much since beginning at Laurimar Primary School - you can be so proud of yourself! Caelan you have grown into mature and responsible leader in our grade - congratulations! You were both so confident and you made me proud. Holly and Jake the students have made wonderful choices in electing you both. You have come such a long way during the time that you have spent at Laurimar Primary School and I am very proud of the confident, responsible and organised leaders that you have both become. I wish that you all could have been elected as you all deserved it!
Congratulations to Holly Spooner and Jake Richards, JSC Reps for 4B 2010!
Netbook Program
Our netbook program is off and running and what a fantastic site it is to see all children engaged in their learning. We are integrating our netbooks through our normal daily programs, including literacy lessons, maths lessons and our integrated curriculum unit. We have posted up some photos of us using our netbooks to share with you.
Weekend Wraps
This week we have used our netbooks to share our Weekend Wraps with you on our grade wiki. Each week we write and talk about what we did on the weekend to share what happens at home with others at the beginning of the week. Usually we do some speaking and listening to share what we did, then we write our weekend wraps to share with Mrs B what we have been up to. We all wrote about our weekends using our netbooks this week, instead of writing into our Writer's Notebooks, so we could share with you, our parents, what we are doing at school. Below are some of our weekend wraps.
